PILOTerror “… is the channel for all my flight logs. If drone videos make you dizzy, do not subscribe to this channel.”
As Brooks alludes in the description above, if you are prone to nausea, dizziness, motion sickness, or vertigo, do not watch these videos.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!

“Santa seems to have gotten lost on his way home, or maybe it’s a victory lap? This may explain how he gets around but he would probably do better with a full acro flight controller so he could dive the chimney pipes.”

“After way too many failed attempts and a mountain of broken props I finally completed a power loop (OK, a sloppy one but still). It wasn’t until I switched to Dalprop propellers so that I didn’t have to stop for a prop change after every crash. All the crashes seen in this video were done with the same set of props. They bend and fold but I just straighten them out and they’re good for another round through the field of pain and torment.”

“At first I thought it was a bearing going bad due to my power loop practice turning into a Tough Mudder event but no.”

“Still no joy with the power loop attempts but at least I can tell a little more of what I’m doing wrong now due to the light pole being a good reference for altitude and angle. Thanks to the good people at Rotor Riot for their tutorials, I can see how I’m SUPPOSED to do it. Still need to get a helper to man the camera so I can get better side view shots. That would help more than anything … other than to have Kevin himself standing here giving me tips between each attempt. I’ll keep trying and posting the results. And as is often the case, goofy music by The Rudy Schwartz Project.”

“I’ve been trying to do a power loop for several months now and can’t get squat for the backward movement part. I watched the ROTOR RIOT video with Keven teaching a student but I don’t have a place to fly with any buildings that tall to use for a reference. I start my run with a little bit of a dive, then level out and start to climb while bringing the nose up. When the FPV camera loses sight of the ground I can only assume it’s pointing straight up so I kick the throttle all the way up for about a second and continue to pull back on the pitch until the horizon comes into view but every time, I’m not moving any direction but down so I pull out and EVERY damned time I’m further forward than I started … a running back flip and NOT a power loop. If I hold the throttle up a little longer I just end up either higher or augering into the ground.”

“Back in my early line of site days. The birds have not been happy about the invasion into their air space.”

“My first flight tests of the new 5″ Alien. The naze32 defaults set the loop cycle link to the KISS ESCs at around 2500ms and that seemed to be the first issue needing adjusting. The first test had the warbling sound which went away when I bumped the loop cycle down to 1600 in the second part of the video. Now (December 2016) I have it set at 1350 and now am focused on adjusting the PIDs to get the last of the tremors out.”

“One of my earliest videos with the Hubsan 107. The fog made for an interesting depth of field enhancement. They say the moisture is bad for the LiPos though.”

“This is what happens when you’re not paying attention to your range and altitude. Using the goggles to locate the signal and track it into beeper range got it back.”

“Still flying the naze32 until I can get a replacement KISS FC. Finally got around to upping the rates a bit and adding a little P as well. It’s getting a little snappier and I’m getting a little more use to the way it handles. Still a little bit of an issue with the nose wanting to pop up while coming out of a dive and trying level out.”

“My best laps so far with my new 5″ Alien. It takes me a while to get up to speed and I even managed to survive running right into a branch but my new carbon fiber blades just cut right through it.”

“My best dive yet. Loving the Alien frame with the Lumenier motors and KISS speed controllers.”

“Finally got my HAM license. Now I can enjoy flying from the quad’s point of view. Much easier to do the acro stuff when you can tell which way it’s pointing when coming out of those rolls and loops. Ya, still pretty lame as far as most of the freestylers are concerned … but everyone can bite me because it’s fun for me and nobody ever watches my videos anyway so no biggie.”

“My first lame ass video for my new lame ass channel. Maybe someday I’ll get some skillz needed to add some acro moves to the mix … not today though.”
