“From “The Thing” to “Big Crawler” to the “Truck Crawlers,” my plans are finally coming together for the latest mutation. I have the truck just about ready to chop in half. I have the motors and steel. Just need to make it happen now. The animations shown does not include a lot of the structural parts needed to keep it together but it does confirm my geometry. “I set up a pinhole projector array to catch the eclipse as it passed along the ground. I staged the Ant Lions for an experiment to see if the eclipse affected their time lapsed movements (they’re slow but deliberate) but I had not expected the big red ants. At first glance it seems they stopped during the eclipse but I repeated the experiment the next day. Check out the results. BTW this location is right in the center of the next peak totality in 2024. I’ll be doing a lot more experiments with hopefully better equipment so stay tuned.”

“Testing out my cheap action camera on the 1080×720 rez 120 frames per second setting for catching lightning in slow motion. Set to the trippy music of Tangerine Dream. Not too bad for a $46 dollar camera. A few days later I crashed it into a tree with the drone and cracked the LCD screen so no more being able to change the settings. I’m probably going to get another one soon, just for the slow mo feature.”

“My planned 3 month long timelapse video of the bluebonnets going through the phases and giving way to the reds and yellows of the paintbrush and Indian blankets…but things were interrupted when my neighbor wasn’t paying attention to where he was going. I’ll still finish it out with the lower quality camera that’s running on the security system but the GoPro died the day after this was edited when it smacked into a tree flying on the racing quadcopter.”

“Extreme macro video assisted cactus needle romoval. I want to make some tools with built in cameras for FPV close up inspections and repairs of things too tiny or out of the line of sight to see. I also want to make a set of tiny robotic arms to manipulate things right in front of the camera.”
